Online video plays a powerful role in the success of Your Buzz technology and can have very real effects for marketers. In a recent blog post on www.targetmarketingmag.com, for example, Gary Hennerberg and Perry Alexander discuss the power of online video in influencing consumer sales. They cite statistics from Invodo's research report entitled "Delivering Superior Shopping Experiences via Video," which show that automotive, consumer electronics, music/dvd/video, toys/video games, and computer hardware and software were the product categories in which online videos were most viewed. 

They also discuss a second study coming from Google and Compete.com. The study only concerns shoppers for apparel, but the findings can be broadly applied to other product categories. This study found that the most viewed types of videos were customer testimonials and reviews, email marketing videos, consumer-generated videos, ads appearing elsewhere online, ads on a TV network website, and professional reviews.
